Information

The Koru Games was set up to provide South Island Year 7 & 8 students with an accessible opportunity to develop their individual skill sets through playing team sport for their school.

Selwyn Sports Trust (SST) decided in 2014 to bring the multi-day multi-sport games concept to the South Island. In doing so SST has and continues to engage with and link strongly to local, regional and national sporting organisations and bodies. By doing this high quality experiences are ensured across all sporting competitions offered at the Koru Games.

While competition is acknowledged as an inherent part of the Games, a strong ethical base will underpin all competitions and playing within the spirit of the Games will be an expectation for all.

All sports offered will be played simultaneously over the three days of the Games (Boccia and Wheelchair Basketball are the only exceptions and will be played each as a one day tournament), making best use of the available time and space.

Locations

All sports are split across 4x hubs in Selwyn; Lincoln, Rolleston, Lincoln University and Prebbleton.
