Ko Jacob Ahuriri-Budgen tōku ingoa, he uri ahau nō Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga, Ngāti Raukawa. Ko au te kaimahi tāonga tākaro o Selwyn Sports Trust!
I'm Jacob and I have a huge passion for tāonga tākaro (Traditional Māori sports) specifically Kī-o-Rahi. I graduated from the University of Canterbury with a degree in Sports Coaching, majoring in Physical Education and minoring in Te Reo Māori. I've spent lots of my free time involved with Māori sports. You can find me playing module Kī-o-Rahi in Summer or running around with the Sumner & Canterbury Māori rugby crew!
I'm passionate about working with rangatahi and I believe sports is an awesome opportunity to connect and develop people beyond the sports field. I'm looking forward to creating a community that is engaged within Te Ao Māori (The Māori world) through a sporting lens that can hopefully bring some unique sporting opportunities to Selwyn that may not have been available before.

Growing up, Sally played a range of competitive sports and more recently has competed in events such as Challenge Wanaka, Ironman NZ and Godzone.
Now that Sally and her family have settled in Canterbury on a family farm, she is looking forward to working with the SST team to design, deliver, and evaluate a number of new and existing events which align with the strategic direction of the Selwyn Sports Trust.
Sam grew up in Christchurch and attended Riccarton High School, where she was actively involved in sports. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and later completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Sport Coaching and Management.
Sam has experience in event management and pastoral care. She has been playing volleyball since the age of 13 and has represented New Zealand as a member of the Women's national team, the Volley Ferns.
Outside of sports, Sam is passionate about wellbeing. She strongly believes in maintaining a balanced life and cherishes spending time with family and friends. She is excited about creating opportunities for empowerment, development, and growth within the Selwyn community.
The Selwyn Sports Trust is supported by a fantastic group, whom we have proudly labelled Friends of SST. Nothing we do would be possible without these incredible people, volunteers, experts, and anyone who steps in to help. They are living proof that community connection is at the heart of everything we do, providing guidance, support, and energy that ensures our programmes and events are welcoming, inclusive, and make a real difference across Selwyn.
