Each Wednesday from 6pm the Ellesmere Road Runners run around the streets of Leeston, beginning at Ellesmere RSA (Cnr High Street Leeston and Lake Rd).
A 2.75km circuit caters for both walkers and runners, with the slightly keener runners completing two laps, a distance of 5.5km. Please see the course map below.
There is a gold coin donation and you enter on the night.
The runs have handicap starts, so you run with people of your own ability. All ages and abilities are welcome.
The locals that have joined so far have commented on how much they enjoy the opportunity to run with other people of their own ability. They are enjoying some friendly competition and have formed new friendships so they can get groups together to compete in other running events around Canterbury. We have between 30-70 runners/walkers on any given night.
So why not come along have fun, meet new people and get fit.
It will be cancelled if it’s bad weather, this is updated on our facebook page.
