A fresh course, a new name, and even bigger energy. The Selwyn Stampede is entering an exciting new chapter.

The Selwyn Sports Trust is proud to announce Arbor Green as the new Naming Rights Sponsor for the Selwyn Stampede for the next three years. This partnership will bring one of Selwyn’s most popular running events to life in a whole new way, with a reimagined course set to take participants through the heart of the brand-new Arbor Green development.

The 2026 Arbor Green Selwyn Stampede date will be announced shortly, and promises to be the biggest and most exciting edition yet.

The Stampede, a much-loved fixture on the local events calendar, offers something for everyone with 5km, 10km, and half marathon distances, plus the crowd-favourite 1km Kids Dash. It attracts runners, walkers, and families from across the region and beyond.

At the heart of the Selwyn Stampede is a simple goal: to be welcoming and inclusive for everyone. Whether it’s your first event or your 100th, this event is for you. The Selwyn Sports Trust is passionate about creating an environment where every participant feels supported, inspired, and part of something bigger.

“We’re absolutely buzzing about this partnership with Arbor Green,” said Mitch Prendergast, Operations Manager at Selwyn Sports Trust. “Not only does it allow us to grow the event, but it also brings an exciting new race experience to participants. The chance to showcase the stunning new Arbor Green community as part of the course is a real win. We can’t wait to bring it all to life.”

Last year, the Selwyn Stampede welcomed over 400 competitors, and the Trust is confident that number will grow with the energy of a new course and the support of a strong, community-focused partner.
